Liam Gallagher Wanted To Get 'Original Oasis' Back Together Without Noel, Claims Friend

Liam Gallagher considered getting Oasis back together with the original members - minus brother Noel.

Gallagher Snr refused to endorse a band playing Oasis songs without him, however, so the plans fell through.

That’s the claim of one of Liam’s pals - Paul ‘Bigun’ Ashbee, in a post on his Facebook page.

But the Burnage rocker scotched the rumours on his own social media feed, telling fans to ‘ignore him’.

Ashbee posted: ‘So Liam looked at the possibility of going out on his own with the original members of Oasis, but guess what Noel wouldn’t endorse it.’

He went on to suggest that Liam, Bonehead, Guigsy and Tony McCarroll - the founding members of Oasis before being joined by chief songwriter Noel - could get together under their original name of The Rain.

‘They could play songs like Take Me, Snake Bite, Reminisce...could work, just saying.’

When quizzed by fans on Twitter though, Liam said; ‘ignore him...he’s a big Utd fan x’

Liam has previously said that he’s ‘not into jumping onto something that happened 20 years ago’ and said the idea of an Oasis reunion had come from Noel, who he keeps calling a ‘potato’ on social media.

Liam has hinted at a comeback though, tweeting to his one million followers in July: ‘I’m on my way back.’

Ashbee, who has known Liam for 30 years, introduced the singer to his childhood friend Bonehead, a guitarist with the band The Rain which later became Oasis.

This summer the football agent will release a tell-all book about Oasis called ‘Giving it the Bigun, Oasis, Football, Manchester and Me’.
